Every year, GSU sponsors the Iron Pour. For more than forty years, the Iron Pour has dazzled students and the community as they watch sculpture being created. The event brings a new artist or group of artists to demonstrate their techniques. With several furnaces melting iron, the sparks and the excitement are all part of this great tradition.
The community is invited to make sculpture, too! Scratch molds are available for families, students and the general public to purchase. Participants take these molds and "scratch" into them a design of their choice. Molten iron is then poured into the molds and then cooled. The resulting art work is then ready to take home.
Don't miss this great community event!
